Working Hours:

12 hours Schedule – two 42-hour weeks, one 48-hour week, one 36-hour week per month Job Description Under direct supervision, operates, maintains and troubleshoots stationary and mobile bulk material handling equipment used to receive, store, prepare and reclaim fuel in order to ensure a consistent fuel supply and prevent disruption of power generation. Job requires working knowledge of the methods, policies, procedures, standards and regulations associated with material handling systems and equipment, sufficient to perform a range of varied, non-routine skilled craft activities. Guidelines are available but are not always applicable to the work or have gaps in specificity, requiring judgment in adapting or developing new methods, techniques and procedures to use in specific cases. Solves complex problems within established parameters and identifies and recommends responses to new and unusual circumstances. Completed work is reviewed upon completion for technical accuracy and compliance with instructions or established procedures. Occasional contact with individuals in other work groups, vendors, contractors, shipping agents and marine vessel crews is required to obtain, clarify and provide information. May be required to work a variety of extended hour shift schedules on a rotational basis, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Additional Information:

Operations and maintenance procedures and standards for material handling equipment. Operating maintaining, and troubleshooting rubber-tired front-end loaders, track-type dozers, track-type excavators, rubber-tired backhoes, and other associated equipment. Methods, practices, and procedures for maintaining, troubleshooting and performing minor repairs of bulk material handling equipment. Rules, regulations, and standards pertaining to material handling. Occupational hazards, tagging and clearance procedures, safety precautions, safety rules and regulations, safe work practices and first aid. Using hand tools. Performing minor repairs on mobile and stationary material handling equipment. Operating standard office equipment.
