What You’ll Do:

With a CDL A, operate one or more types of heavy equipment to push, pull, pile, or load materials, such as sand, gravel, earth, coal, moving and covering refuse, and clearing brush, rocks, tree stumps, and other material.
Ensures the performance of operator maintenance on vehicles, such as cleaning vehicles, checking and replenishing fluids to proper levels, examining and changing filters, lubricating equipment, and making necessary adjustments.
Ensures proper use of hand tools for changing attachments, tightening loose nuts and bolts, etc.
Ensures safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe clean work environment.
Ensures usage and assures proper fit of required safety equipment and clothing
Performs landscape maintenance duties such as mowing, herbicide and fertilizer application, weed control, spring clean-up, fall clean-up
Performs Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)
Temporary traffic control to support first responders and accident victims with lane closures/flagging
Conducts pre-trip and post-trip vehicle and work site inspections
Performs maintenance on company vehicles or equipment
Drives company trucks, towing trailers and rolling arrow boards
Logs maintenance work-order information and checklists manually and electronically
Loads and unloads equipment, supplies, tools, and material
Uses all equipment safely
Performs other duties as required

What You’ll Bring:

18+ years of age
High School Diploma or equivalent work experience Valid Florida Driver’s License
CDL A
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry up to 25 lbs. regularly
Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods of time
Possess good oral and written communication skills
Willingness to work multiple shifts and varying hours, including nights, weekends, and overtime
Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
Ability to work along local roadways, interstates, and or/highways with commuter traffic passing by at varying rates of speed
Obtain MOT certificate (coursework and certification paid for by the company)
1+ years’ experience in heavy equipment operation
Must be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate’s start date
Successful results of pre-employment screenings, including federal background check, MVR (Motor Vehicle Record), and drug screen Preferred Qualifications
1+ year of experience working in roadway operations, construction, utilities, or landscaping.
MOT Certified
Ability to drive manual transmission
Possess a working knowledge of standard horticultural practices, including but not limited to mowing, weed eating, corrective pruning, and fertilization.
Location Requirements
The position will primarily work onsite in Ocoee, FL.
