Full Job Description Summary:
The Bulldozer Operator is responsible for the operation of crawler or rubber tired tractor with dozer attachment to push, spread or level road construction material, and assisting with all phases of the grading operation at a road construction job site.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Push, spread or level dirt, rock and other materials using the dozer blade. Push or feed material onto loader bucket. Load and unload equipment for movement to job site. Clear and grub, control burn and other applications using rake and other attachments. Use skills and be constantly vigilant in order to avoid injury to others as the work is often done in close proximity of utilities, traffic, and to laborers working on the ground and in trenches. Understand the operations and limitations of the equipment; perform daily evaluations to ensure its safe and continual service; report any deficiencies when needed to fix issues. Assist in the maintenance of the job site. Maintain all equipment/tools. Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task; properly follow all Company policies and OSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment. Perform projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or its equivalent preferred. Previous experience operating heavy equipment is required. Sufficient mechanical/equipment knowledge to identify minor problems and fix them and the ability to effectively communicate with supervisor or mechanic about other equipment issues that require repair. Ability to understand and follow instructions; function effectively as part of a team; ability to work under pressure; communicate with supervisors, co-workers and the public. Ability to prioritize, multi-task, take initiative, and problem solve while maintaining attention to detail. Mechanical aptitude is desirable.

The employee is occasionally required to reach, push, and pull with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Physical dexterity may involve stretching, proper placement of legs, and use of arms and hands in repetitive motions. The employee must be able to maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities occurring at the site, including the activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment, and the movement of mobile equipment.
