The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy equipment operation and mechanical knowledge, with the ability to operate skid steers and other machinery efficiently and safely. This role is crucial for the successful completion of construction projects, ensuring that tasks are performed with precision and adherence to safety standards. Duties Operate skid steers and other heavy equipment, including backhoes, dump trucks, and water trucks, to complete construction tasks. Perform loader operations for material handling, including loading and unloading materials as required. Maintain equipment by conducting regular inspections, performing minor repairs, and reporting any major issues to supervisors. Collaborate with team members on construction site activities, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to project timelines. Follow safety protocols and regulations while operating machinery on construction sites. Assist in building structures or foundations as directed by site supervisors. Ensure the work area is clean and organized at all times to promote safety and efficiency. Requirements Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, specifically with skid steers and loaders. Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively. Familiarity with various types of construction machinery including Caterpillar models. Experience in commercial driving is a plus for transporting equipment or materials as needed. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards. Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and supervisors. A valid driver’s license is required; additional certifications for operating heavy machinery are preferred. Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks associated with construction work.
