These operators are directly responsible for the effective execution of loading, unloading and staging freight. Key Responsibilities Heavy Equipment Operators must handle various duties on the job to ensure smooth and efficient project progress. Paramount among these is operating heavy machinery in compliance with the company’s operating procedures and safety regulations. Operators are also expected to perform daily maintenance checks on equipment, report any malfunctions or safety concerns, and ensure that the machinery is in good working condition before and after usage. Tasks and Duties Specific tasks for a Heavy Equipment Operator include: Operating heavy equipment such as roll clamp lift trucks to load, unload and stage materials. Rail car experience. Loading and unloading weight up to 36,000 lbs. Such as steel, lumber and paper rolls. Adhering to safety guidelines and maintaining a safe work environment. Conducting pre-operational checks on equipment and securing any necessary attachments
