Job Description
Equipment Operator Thomas County Public Works 78 Joiner Road, Thomasville, GA 31757 About us Looking for highly motivated operators for equipment. CDL license is not required but will be beneficial with pay. ## Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating a variety of equipment for road work operations and material handling. ## Responsibilities
- Utilize heavy equipment such as skid steers, zero turn mowers, backhoes and pickup trucks to move materials around county roadways
- Operate and maintain equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Load and unload materials from trucks or containers
- Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment
- Assist with inventory control and stock management ## Skills
- Proficiency in operating heavy equipment including skid steers, zero turn mowers, and backhoes
- Strong materials handling skills
- Mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Ability to load, unload, and organize materials efficiently Qualifications Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, including backhoe operation Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills Ability to manage inventory control and materials handling effectively Experience in loading and unloading materials safely Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Commitment to adhering to safety regulations and protocols
