Job Description
The Construction Equipment Operator drives, maneuvers, & controls theheavy machinery used to assist with the construction of structures.
Construction Equipment Operator Responsibilities:
Ensure all equipmentis maintained & used in accordance with company health & safetyregulations. Clean, lubricate, & perform regular safety checks onequipment. Ensure equipment is properly positioned before turning it on& off or loading & unloading it. Train new crew members in the safeoperation of equipment. Perform other construction duties as needed.
Observe the safe distribution of construction materials. Promptly reportall faults to the Construction Supervisor or Foreman. Ensure sites arekept safe & clean. Attend meetings & refresher courses to ensureresponsible equipment operation. Identify faults & troubleshootequipment as required. Assist the Warehouse Team on an as needed basis.
Warehouse/Yard/Truck Driver Duties Include:
Facilitate getting tools &equipment to foremen/job sites upon request, follow up on lost tools:
Monitor condition of tools & note that in the system. Job site trashremoval. Trailering. Plowing (this may require off-hours work). Roll theparking lots once a week with a magnet. Help to clean, organize, &maintain two “Receiving” bays with bay floors to be always as clear aspossible. Dispose of roofing tar, contact cement, oil-based paints, &all hazardous building materials legally (Discourage return to shop ofhazardous materials & paints). Empty all office trash in both locationsonce a day & as needed. Perform small maintenance duties such aschanging light bulbs, as needed, in all office buildings. Maintain &clean snowplow(s) & gas grille. Maintain & organize yard, parking areas,signs, receiving areas, dumpster, fences, racks, ladders, & tarps.
Manage toxic shed ? check for container leakage & secure/lock at end ofday. Test & maintain sign, building lights, & timer. Receive & assist inunloading deliveries, checking in orders, & distributing to projectmanagers, job sites, or store in warehouse. Keep list of job surplusitems in warehouse & yard that can be utilized/taken (i.e., insulation,extra windows/doors, appliances, flooring) & email project managers on aweekly or bi-weekly basis. Assist in counting physical inventorymonthly.
Requirements:
Required Licenses:
Valid Driver’s License, CDL -Class B, 2A Hoisting Engineer License, OSHA-10
Certification PreferredLicense:
CDL – Class A Strong communication, organizational, & timemanagement skills Excellent teamwork & interpersonal abilities Abilityto follow instructions accurately, particularly under pressure Priorexperience operating heavy equipment Basic mathematical proficiencyDemonstrated technical aptitude & capacity to learn Strong attention todetail & thoroughness in task execution Dependable, adaptable, & able toproblem-solve in dynamic environments Strong safety awareness &commitment to safe work practices
Physical Requirements:
Ability tolift, carry, push, & pull 80 pounds. Physically fit & able to performvarious tasks that include standing, climbing, lifting, walking,reaching, crawling, etc.
