The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of heavy machinery and equipment used in construction and pipeline projects. This role requires a strong understanding of plans, construction management, and safety regulations to ensure efficient and safe operations on-site. This position is also a lead position meaning you will be in charge of your crew. Duties Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, and loaders in compliance with safety standards. Read and interpret blueprints to perform required work such as structure demolition, asphalt & sidewalk removal, etc. Supervise the operation of equipment, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines. Collaborate with project managers and contractors to coordinate equipment usage effectively. Utilize construction management software for tracking project progress and equipment maintenance. Assist in budgeting for equipment needs and maintenance schedules. Conduct regular inspections of machinery using tools such as an ohmmeter to ensure proper functioning. Adhere to OSHA regulations to maintain a safe working environment. Experience Previous experience as an Equipment Operator in construction or related fields is preferred. Familiarity with construction management practices and software is a plus. Knowledge of budgeting processes related to equipment operation is beneficial. Strong understanding of safety protocols, including OSHA standards, is essential. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also taking initiative when supervising operations.
