Position:

Long Arm Excavator Operator Lo cation: Charlotte, NC Are you skilled in heavy equipment operation and looking to join a stable, growing company? We are seeking a Long Arm Excavator Operator to support our wash pit operations and assist with site preparation and demolition work as needed. This is an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, operate powerful machinery, and be part of a team that keeps our operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate long arm excavators safely and effectively in various environments. Perform daily and bi-weekly equipment inspections to ensure proper functioning. Remove washout material from wash pits and surrounding work areas. Manage crushed concrete piles while preventing cave-ins and safety risks. Maintain a safe working distance from overhead power lines and potential hazards. Dig trenches for piping and assist with general site preparation activities. Support demolition of existing structures as required.

Physical Demands:

This is a physically demanding role requiring regular walking, climbing, stooping, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. The operator must be able to enter and exit heavy equipment safely and work in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.

Work Environment:

Work is primarily performed outdoors in conditions that may involve dirt, dust, noise, and weather changes. Occasional indoor tasks may include equipment maintenance and inspections.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

Valid Class A License:

Possess a current Class A DOT license, meeting legal requirements for operating heavy equipment on job sites.

Heavy Equipment Operation:

Demonstrated experience operating long-arm excavators or similar types of heavy construction equipment.

Safety Knowledge:

Strong understanding of construction site safety regulations and best practices for hazard prevention.

Equipment Maintenance:

Ability to perform routine inspections and follow maintenance procedures to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently.

Independent Work Ethic:

Capable of working independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and attention to detail.
