Role:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Articulated Dump Truck (ADT) Driver to join our construction team. As an ADT Driver, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting various materials, such as dirt, gravel, rock, and aggregates, across construction sites.
Responsibilities:
Operate vibratory and static rollers to compact subgrade, base, and asphalt materials. Inspect work areas and compact surfaces according to grade and density requirements. Coordinate with paving crew, foreman, or grade checker to ensure smooth workflow and coverage. Monitor compaction performance and make adjustments based on material and site conditions. Perform daily pre-start inspections and basic maintenance of the roller, including fluid levels, tires, and functionality. Follow safe operating procedures and traffic control guidelines on busy job sites. Communicate effectively with other equipment operators and ground crew to avoid collisions or overlaps.
Qualifications:
Proven experience operating rollers in road construction or site work.
Familiarity with various roller types:
smooth drum, padfoot, pneumatic/tire rollers. Understanding of compaction techniques and soil/asphalt behavior. Ability to read grade stakes, plans, or use GPS/laser equipment (a plus). Valid Driver’s License. Strong understanding of heavy equipment safety procedures and best practices. Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness. Ability to work in various weather conditions and challenging outdoor environments. Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality. Must have PPE including steel toe work boots, hard hat, gloves, high visibility vest, and protective eyeglasses. Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
OSHA 10 preferred. Experience with GPS guidance systems on heavy equipment.
