The Backhoe Operator will work closely with other team members to ensure that all tasks are completed safely and effectively. Duties Operate backhoe equipment to dig trenches, holes, and foundations as required for various construction projects. Perform routine maintenance checks on the backhoe and other heavy machinery to ensure optimal performance. Collaborate with site supervisors to understand project requirements and timelines. Utilize additional equipment such as bulldozers, loaders, water trucks, and dump trucks as needed. Execute horizontal drilling tasks when necessary, ensuring precision and adherence to safety protocols. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety regulations and guidelines. Assist in training new operators on proper equipment handling and safety practices. Skills Proficient in backhoe operation with a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation principles. Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues that may arise during operation. Experience with various types of heavy machinery including Caterpillar models, bulldozers, loaders, water trucks, and dump trucks. Ability to dig efficiently while maintaining safety standards on site. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and supervisors. A valid driver’s license is preferred.
