Job Summary We are looking for a skilled and experienced Machine Operators (Dozer & Excavator Operators) to join our dynamic team. This position requires frequent travel to various project sites, often in remote or rural areas. The ideal candidate will be proficient in operating bulldozers and excavators, with the flexibility to operate additional equipment such as telehandlers and skid steers. You will play a vital role in preparing construction sites for utility-scale solar installations, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Responsibilities Responsible of the following site works on utility solar projects:
Heavy Equipment Operation:
Safely and efficiently operate bulldozers and excavators to move, grade, and level earth and materials.
Site Preparation:
Clear land, dig trenches, and backfill areas to prepare for solar infrastructure.
Material Handling:
Spread and compact gravel, sand, and soil to establish stable foundations.
Routine Maintenance:
Perform daily equipment checks, including fluid levels, lubrication, and cleaning.
Safety Compliance:
Follow all safety protocols and site-specific regulations.
Team Collaboration:
Coordinate with other operators and construction personnel to meet project goals.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate daily logs and equipment maintenance records.
Experience and Requirements Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
0 – 5 years of experience operating bulldozers in construction or similar environments.
Certification:
Valid certification as a Heavy Equipment Operator certification required; OSHA 10 preferred
Licenses:
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. DOT license for equipment hauling is a plus
Travel:
Must be willing and able to travel frequently to project sites across various regions. Skills Proficiency in operating multiple types of construction machinery. Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints. Strong understanding of construction site safety practices. Landscape experience is a plus. Skilled in using hand and power tools. Familiarity with digital systems for timekeeping and reporting. Professional demeanor and effective communication skills.
