Non-Exempt Job Description:

In this role, you will be responsible for the operation of motor equipment requiring a commercial driver’s license for the construction, repair, and maintenance of municipal rights-of-way and drainage systems.

Examples of Duties:

Drives and operates motor equipment such as dump trucks, asphalt trucks, rollers, bush hogs, tractors and similar motor equipment. Completes work orders and daily worksheets. Performs daily maintenance on equipment operated and maintains records of such maintenance. May operate other heavy equipment such as backhoe or front-end loader when required. Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two (2) years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid SC Commercial Driver’s License Permit – Class B. Must obtain Commercial Driver’s License – Class B within 6 months of employment.

Other Necessary Requirements:

May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City’s needs.
