South Carolina Heavy Equipment Operator Job Summary:

Responsible for preparing and manipulating heavy equipment to ensure the appropriate movement of materials and liaising with coworkers to ensure the projects are completed accurately. Will be required continuously to conduct duties safely and diligently. Monitor workflow and suggest alterations to enhance productivity as needed.

Essential Functions:

Operating motorized heavy equipment to ensure accurate removal and placement of materials. Loading and occasional offloading of rocks, brick, concrete, and other debris and materials with equipment Observe stipulated safety codes, rules, regulations, and policies at all times Communicating with coworkers to elucidate project specifications as needed. Reporting all accidents, incidents, and injuries. Inform management of requisite upgrades, repairs, and replacements Aiding coworkers to ensure that the site is clean and organized at the end of each shift Providing suggestions to refine workflow and boost efficiency Inspecting, greasing, and overall operational check on equipment before each use

Requirements:

Prior experience operating a variety of heavy equipment machinery Ability to lift 50 lbs. Excellent vision or the use of prescribed lenses Exceptional manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination A sound understanding of pertinent safety guidelines Sharp Decision-making skills, particularly when under pressure Ability to work extended hours in heat and cold, as needed Valid driver’s license Ability to pass drug/alcohol screening and criminal background check. Preferred OSHA 10 and 30 certifications. Not required
