Job Title:

Heavy Equipment Operator Job Description As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will operate a 30-ton Taylor Big Red forklift to transport pipes and materials in outdoor environments. You will safely move suspended loads using chains, following proper rigging techniques and safety protocols. You’ll learn to read and interpret work orders to accurately locate and move shipments, perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on the forklift, and assist with general labor tasks, including cleaning and organizing the warehouse. Responsibilities Operate a 30-ton Taylor Big Red forklift in outdoor environments. Safely move suspended loads using chains, adhering to rigging techniques and safety protocols. Read and interpret work orders to locate and move shipments accurately. Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on the forklift. Operate the forklift both in outdoor warehouse and outdoors, ensuring safety around other employees. Assist with general labor tasks, including cleaning and organizing the warehouse. Work Environment This position involves working in a non-climate-controlled, outdoor warehouse environment. The setting is loud and dirty, with the requirement to work 10+ hours of overtime weekly, including occasional mandatory Saturdays with a three-day notice. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Summerville, South Carolina. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 – $22.00/hr.
