We are currently looking for a Yard Hostler at our customer site located in Fountain Inn, SC. This position plays a critical role in the efficient movement of materials and products within the customers’ fulfillment site.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Perform periodic inspections before, during, and after delivery to ensure that the load is properly fastened down and is secure and maintain trucks’ overall service and perform required inspections.
Complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift. May include, but not limited to, daily logs, inspection logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspection, hours of service, etc.
Trailer Movement:
Safely operate industrial tractors to move, position, and park 53-foot trailers to and from vehicle parking and docking areas. This includes hooking up, unhooking, securing, and sealing trailers.
Docking Operations:
Spot (position) loaded and unloaded trailers at assigned dock spaces for efficient loading or unloading by warehouse teams.
Just-in-Time Delivery:
Move production material trailers as requested to support customer’s “just-in-time” delivery methods for fulfillment site and customer needs.
Documentation and Communication:
Accurately document all trailer moves and communicate effectively with the site’s management and production teams.
Yard Management:
Perform regular cycle counts, yard checks, and maintain the accuracy of the yard.
Inspections and Safety:
Conduct daily inspections of trucks and trailers, including safety checks, and report any maintenance or safety issues. Adhere to all applicable safety regulations and procedures.
Material Handling Support:
A portion of the role involves acting as a Material Handler, assisting with duties like using a sit-down forklift to unload inbound shipments, move products, and stack/store materials.
General Assistance:
Assist vendors’ drivers with inquiries, help with yard clean-up, and support overall warehouse best practices.
Key Requirements:
Experience:
A minimum of 2 year of experience operating a tractor/trailer (specifically 3-axle tractor and 53′ trailer) is required.
Experience operating a sit-down forklift, preferably within the last year, with current forklift certification required.
Experience in logistics or yard operations required.
Licenses/Certifications:
Valid Medical Certification is attached to your current CDL. Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is required.
No Seatbelt violations.
No cell phone violations.
Clean Clearing House
Must meet all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) requirements.
No more than three (3) accidents in the past three (3) years.
No more than three (3) moving violations in the past three (3) years.
Skills:
Excellent work ethic and a team player mindset: levelheaded, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, courteous, flexible, punctual, professional, and customer-focused.
Strong communication skills to coordinate with dock personnel and other team members as well as the customer. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills for maintaining yard efficiency.
Physical Demands:
Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods (up to hours a day).
Ability to stand, walk, climb in and out of tractors frequently.
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. daily, manually crank landing gear, and repetitively open and close trailer doors at different heights (4-5 ft).
Ability to endure and safely operate in extreme weather and climate conditions (working both outdoors and indoors).
Work Environment:
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
Adaptability to changing work conditions.
Willingness to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, safety shoes, and reflective vests.
