As a Front-End Loader Operator, you will be a key player in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of heavy machinery, specifically front-end loaders. Your primary responsibilities will include the movement and loading of materials, making a significant contribution to the overall success of our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely and efficiently operate front end loaders to move various materials, including soil, sand, gravel and construction materials. Load soil hopper and other vehicles with materials according to specifications and safety guidelines. Unload materials at designated locations as required. Utilize the front-end loader to transport materials within the worksite, ensuring timely and accurate delivery. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on the front-end loader to ensure proper functioning. • Perform tasks such as greasing all pivot points and blowing dust from the radiator. • Report any malfunctions or issues promptly to facilitate timely repairs. Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations, emphasizing the proper use of personal protective equipment. Coordinate with other team members and supervisors to ensure an efficient workflow and accurate material handling. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications 6 months experience as a Front-End Loader Operator or Heavy Equipment Operator in the Horticulture field or related industry. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license. Proficient in the operation and maintenance of front-end loaders, with an added advantage of basic equipment troubleshooting skills. Ability to follow instructions and perform tasks to company standards. Must be dedicated to adhering to safety protocols and practices. Familiarity with OSHA regulations concerning heavy equipment operation. Preferred Qualifications Certification as a Front-End Loader Operator. Job Setting & Physical Demands This position is primarily outdoors but may be required to work between locations and within an indoor office environment for administrative duties, which may require the use of computers and standard office equipment. Fluency to read, write, and understand the English language is required. Must be able to work in all outdoor elements, including dust, rain, cold, and allergens. Position requires long-term ability for sitting while operating heavy equipment. Position also requires frequent standing, squatting, bending, reaching, and twisting on a regular basis to fulfill essential duties. Candidate must have the ability to operate all machinery necessary within the department and across the facility, including but not limited to operating a front-end loader and fork truck. Employee must have the ability to lift 35 pounds unaided, 50 pounds with assistance. The typical work schedule is Monday-Friday; however, overtime and weekend work is required during peak seasons.
