Operation of a lift truck (see lift truck job functions) Operation of a loader/skid-steer (see loader job functions)
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
(Forklift Operator) : Load/Unload trailers in a safe manner Material grading Placing processed material into inventory storage Monitor bale weights Complete all appropriate paperwork Perform pre-shift forklift inspection Perform routine preventive maintenance Maintains a basic knowledge of operations and procedures in all production departments. Maintain safe and clean work environment Completes all assigned trainings. Active participant in the Health and Safety programs of WestRock Performs other job duties as needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
(Loader Operator) : Operating the loader as trained, assessed, and according to operators’ manual Keeping belts full of material with a level load. Monitoring the material for contaminants; removing as needed Organizing work area (tip floor) to keep materials separate by grade and allow material drop offs by customers to be completed in a safe, timely and efficient manner. Communicate and work with the baler concerning changes in material flow (material, wet, size differences, heavy flow, grade changes, etc.). Let baler operator know what is coming to help minimize bale problems. Communicate and work with other loader operators, lift truck operators, and pedestrians due to shared workspace and responsibilities. Monitor customer movement in tipping areas, docks, and in plant to maximize safe conditions for both employees and customers Complete paperwork as required General Responsibilities Proficient and diverse skills on a lift truck and loader
Maintenance Responsibilities:
Daily maintenance check performed, paperwork filled, signed-off out and turned in. Operator must blow out or vacuum the engine, radiator, and intake filters daily, and is responsible for cleanliness of the cab and windows. If cleaning materials are needed see maintenance or supervisor.
Housekeeping Responsibilities:
Perform housekeeping duties in accordance with operation housekeeping plan What you need to succeed: Ability to meet physical demands below (or accommodated demands) Ability to communicate task and safety information appropriately Completion of a WestRock Loader Operator Training program (written materials) Completion of on-the-job-training for equipment specific tasks, with any corresponding documentation Documented assessment by a certified training instructor
