Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, bulldozers, and loaders to perform excavation and site preparation tasks. Read and interpret site plans, blueprints, and project specifications to determine the most efficient and safe methods for excavation. Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment, ensuring all machinery is in proper working order and reporting any issues to the maintenance team. Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring the safety of the worksite. Coordinate with site supervisors, engineers, and other construction personnel to complete tasks according to project timelines and specifications. Perform grading and leveling tasks to ensure proper drainage and foundational support. Monitor and manage the removal and disposal of excavated materials in compliance with environmental regulations. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including daily activity logs and equipment usage reports.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Additional vocational training or certifications in heavy equipment operation is preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience operating heavy equipment, with a focus on excavation work. Valid operator’s license and any required state or local certifications for operating heavy machinery. Strong understanding of excavation techniques, soil types, and site preparation methods. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and project specifications. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
