The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both residential and commercial painting, with the ability to interpret blueprints and schematics. This role requires attention to detail, a good understanding of color theory, and proficiency in using various painting tools and techniques. The Painter will be responsible for delivering high-quality finishes while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Duties Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer as needed. Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment. Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine the scope of work required. Mix colors according to specifications and demonstrate an understanding of color theory. Perform drywall repairs and plastering as necessary before painting. Utilize power tools for cutting, sanding, or shaping materials as needed. Apply caulking to seal joints and gaps in surfaces before painting. Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and ensure they are stored properly after use. Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Skills Proficient in blueprint reading and understanding schematics. Strong knowledge of color theory and application techniques. Experience with commercial painting projects is preferred. Ability to perform basic math calculations related to measurements and quantities. Skilled in drywall installation and repair as well as plastering techniques. Familiarity with caulking methods for sealing surfaces effectively.
