POSITION REQUIREMENTS

:

  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must possess a valid Alabama Drivers License and be able to be insured by the AIDB insurance carrier.
  • Must have considerable knowledge of paints, painting equipment, painting methods, and practices of the painting trade.
  • Must be aware of safety hazards and use preventive measures to prevent accidents.
  • Must have skills in the operation of power spraying equipment and understand the operation and care of all painting equipment.
  • Must be physically able to perform assigned duties without close supervision.
  • Must be able to follow directions and work unsupervised.
  • A sign language proficiency level of
SURVIVAL

according to the AIDB evaluation system must be obtained within the first thirty-six (36) months of employment.

  • Must maintain all the buildings for AIDB in a professional manner.
  • Upon offer of employment, the applicant must submit to a fingerprint background check at an agency designated and paid by AIDB .

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience as a painter for five (5) years.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

: Routine tasks include but are not limited to the following:

  • Paint all types of surfaces – metal, masonry, wood, etc.
  • Use a variety of paints as surfaces require for durability.
  • Purchase paint and paint supplies as necessary.
  • Clean, prepare, and treat all surfaces for proper applications of paints.
  • Finish sheetrock and prepare for painting.
  • Perform all related work as required in relation to painting.
  • Must be able to climb high places.
  • Plaster walls.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Paid Holidays SALARY :

$19.91 – $23.93 Scale C5 Rank 42 (260 Days) Direct deposit is required. This is a non-exempt position and is subject to overtime and/or compensatory time provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Upon agreement in advance, hours worked over 40 in the work week will be taken as time off at 1 ½ times the hours worked.
