Job Summary This position is responsible for site preparation, color matching, surface preparation, and applying paint and other finishes to walls, ceilings, furniture and other surfaces. Essential Job Duties Preparing the work site by covering furniture and fixtures, taping off outlets, and cleaning the area.
Preparing the surface by removing old paint, filling cracks and holes, and sanding the surface.
Mixing and applying paint, choosing the right color and texture, and applying the paint with a brush, roller, or sprayer.
Installing and removing fixtures. Removing and reinstalling doorknobs and switch covers, and rearranging furniture.
Conducting proper clean-up of tools, equipment, and work areas.
Estimating costs by calculating the time and materials needed to complete the project.
Working with clients to ensure the work meets their requirements.
Following safety rules by adhering to workplace safety rules and regulations Other Job Duties Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent is desirable but not required. A valid Tennessee driver’s license and evidence of insurability is required. Candidates must be able to follow oral and written instructions with minimum supervision. Candidates must also be familiar with safety measures in their area of specialty. Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to applicants with appropriate certifications. Christian Requirement Successful candidates must be professing Christians who are active members of a local church, enthusiastically support Union University’s Identity, Mission, and Core Values, and articulate a Christian worldview in their work and life.
