Painter II (Support Services) Shelby County Government – 3.6 Memphis, TN Job Details Full-time $32.25 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Construction painting 5 years High school diploma or GED Driver’s License Trade school Senior level Full Job Description Position Summary Works under general supervision to determine and perform the type of decorative work necessary on buildings and appurtenances of County buildings.

Pay Grade:

51H Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education Minimum Qualifications 1. Five (5) years of experience as a painter; AND 2. High school diploma or possess a GED, or trade school with a certificate/diploma in painting. 3.

PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.

Duties and Responsibilities 1. Responsible for basic preparatory procedures that are needed before paint is applied to the building. 2. Decides what type of paint should be used on walls, ceilings, wood trim, acoustical material, plaster, concrete, or sheet rock. 3. Supervise and direct all refinishing and decorative work. 4. Determine the required quantity and quality of all necessary materials. 5. Cut stencils to specified sized for signs. 6. Maintain records and makes reports. 7. Performs related responsibilities as required or directed. KSAs 1. Knowledge of up-to-date painting procedures, equipment, and inventories. 2. Ability to mix and match paints and use tools and materials to produce a neat appearance. 3. Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with other employees. Special Requirements 1. Must possess a valid Tennessee driver’s license or secure one as of the date of employment. 2. Will be required to drive to multiple Shelby County facilities. 3. Must pass a physical examination.
