Industrial Pipe Fitter
- An industrial pipe fitter is responsible for assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing piping systems in manufacturing and industrial environments.
This role ensures the safe and efficient transport of water, steam, chemicals, and gases by interpreting blueprints, selecting appropriate materials, and using specialized tools to fit and secure pipes. Pipe fitters work closely with other trades to support the operation and maintenance of industrial systems.
- Responsibilities
- + Install and assemble piping systems for industrial machinery and infrastructure, including cutting, threading, bending, and welding pipes.
+ Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and piping schematics to determine layout and installation procedures. + Inspect and test installed systems for leaks and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. + Perform routine maintenance and repairs on existing piping systems, including replacing worn or damaged components. + Align and secure pipes using brackets, clamps, and welding equipment. + Collaborate with engineers, welders, and maintenance teams to ensure proper system integration. + Maintain accurate records of installations, inspections, and repairs.
- Essential Skills
- + Strong knowledge of pipe systems, materials (e.
g., carbon steel, stainless steel, PVC), and fittings. + Proficiency in using pipe fitting tools such as pipe cutters, threaders, benders, and welding equipment. + Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics. + Familiarity with safety standards and regulations related to industrial piping systems. + Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy materials, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks at various heights. + Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve piping issues efficiently.
