Our work includes construction services for public works, water resources, wastewater treatment plants (WWTP), and site development. If you have skills and experience working with water treatment plant projects and everything associated with them and want to take your career to the next level, this role will be a great fit.
Essential Job Functions:
The following duties are typical for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Attach pipes to walls, structures, fixtures, tanks using clamps, welding equipment, and brackets.
Measure and mark pipes for cutting, threading, and welding.
Use specific tools such as saws, cutting torches, pipe threaders, benders, and welders.
Plan piping system layouts, installations, or repairs according to specifications.
Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems, units, fitting and related machines and equipment following specifications using hand and power tools.
Remove and replace worn components.
Assist plant crews with all other necessary duties including concrete, site work, formwork, and building construction.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required to Perform Essential Functions•
Technical Knowledge:
Effective communication skills
Identify, report, and correct hazards
Ability to measure, perform construction math and calculate slopes.
Use of a torque wrench, welder
Read and interpret plans, including pipe restraint joint charts
Proper techniques for joining different types of pipe; push joint, MJ, restrained joints, TR Flex, and flanged.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods; handle and manipulate objects on a repetitive basis. Ability to see well and distinguish between backup alarms, voices, and other normal sounds consistent with construction job sites. Ability to climb in and out of trenches, ability to lift 80 lbs.
Environmental Adaptability:
Work inside and outside in all weather conditions, and various locations and times of the day. Hard hat, hearing and eye protection, and Hi-visibility clothing required.
Training and Experience:
1 year of pipe fitting experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
Good verbal communication skills
Good organizational skills
Basic Math
Punctual
Ability to work independently and self-motivated
Team player, able to get along with a diverse group of people working towards a common goal
