Responsibility:
Responsibilities of the pipelayer helper include, but not limited to: Configure pipe routes. Align pipes in pipeline sections. Dig trenches with trenching tools. Slide pipe into trenches, and glue joints. Insert spaces in between pipes. Pull out defective or misaligned pipes. Inspect places where pipes are fitted together to ensure pipes are spaced out properly and according to specifications. Lay pipe for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains. Use glue or welding equipment to ensure pipes are tightly fitted. Ensure pipes are fitted and aligned using grade rods or transit levels. Cover pipes with dirt or other material. Drill holes into pipes for auxiliary lines. Perform continual maintenance on pipes and replace those needing repair. Utilize magnetic or radio indicators.
Qualifications:
We are looking for those team members that possess the following traits: Must have pipelaying knowledge or exposure. Proficiency in pipe installation techniques, including proper bedding and backfilling. Expected to be able to work independently and with others depending on scope of work. Ability to communicate effectively with team and other field employees. Must be able to perform general physical activities common to the pipelaying trade. Strong attention to detail while producing accurate and high-quality work. Conceptualize concepts easily and visualize potential outcomes. Knowledgeable about technological developments. Great attitude. Reliable. Productive. Committed to safety. Committed to being drug free. Valid driver’s license with transportation.
