Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced 1st Class Carbon Steel Pipe Fitter to join our team at our Houma, LA shipyard. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pipe fitting within a shipyard environment, with an emphasis on carbon steel pipes. This is a day shift role with a competitive hourly rate, perfect for those looking to apply their skills on major shipyard projects.
Responsibilities:
Install, assemble, and secure carbon steel piping systems following blueprints and specifications Perform measurements, cuts, and fits for various pipe components Ensure proper alignment and secure connections to meet project specifications and safety standards Inspect and test pipe systems for leaks and other issues, ensuring quality and reliability Collaborate with welders and other team members to complete assignments efficiently Adhere to all shipyard safety protocols and regulations
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a pipe fitter on a shipyard Proficiency in handling and installing carbon steel pipes Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and pipe specifications Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Commitment to safety standards and practices
