Utility Pipe Layer A&A Grading and Hauling Bessemer City, NC 28016
Responsibilities:
Install, repair, and maintain various types of piping systems for utilities including water, sewer, and drainage. Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications to determine the layout of piping systems. Familiar with and able to read grade rods and elevations. Conduct utility locating to ensure the safe installation of pipes without damaging existing underground utilities. Measuring and configuring pipe routes. Gathering material and installation tools. Digging trenches using hand and machine trenching tools. Removing old or broken piping systems. Laying pipes into trenches and applying pipe spacers. Checking pipe alignment and sealing pipes with cement glue. Sealing exposed pipe joints and fittings. Filling and sealing pipe trenches.
Qualifications:
Valid driver’s license Minimum 2 year’s experience in underground utility installation. Able to stand/sit for extended periods of time, as well as stoop, kneel, walk, bend, crouch, lift, and crawl as required to perform essential duties. Able to climb on and off equipment safely while maintaining three (3) points of contact. Must maintain constant alertness and situational awareness while on the job site. Able to perform job responsibilities outdoors, in all types of weather conditions. Able to communicate audibly and visually while exposed to varying levels of noise, dust and substances commonly found on construction sites. Able to use hands, arms, and feet for repetitive lifting and carrying of construction materials. Able to lift 50 lbs. on a frequent basis.
