POSITION DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities:
Helper to install industrial piping systems including chill water, hot water, steam, condensate, condensed water. Interpret blueprints and troubleshoot issues as they arise. Fabricate pipe supports. Measure, cut, carry, hang, install hangers, and grind the ends of pipe. Fabricate and spool copper lines. All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Ability to use pipefitter hand tools: channel locks, portaband saw, grinder, pipe wrench, tape measure Knowledge of pipefitter equipment and power tools Must have knowledge of pipe fabrication methods Willingness to guard your own personal safety and the safety of others Able to work minimum 40 plus hours per week Able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift Able to stand and work for prolonged periods of time Ability to climb ladder as needed
EDUCATION
Minimum of a high school education or equivalent
JOB REQUIREMENTS/SPECIAL SKILLS
Self-motivated individual with a cooperative attitude a must Ability to communicate with shop foreman with concerns towards safety and craftsmanship Ability to work under direct supervision if required Requires working in conditions of varying heat and cold and where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels. Courses in construction safety are a requirement.
