Clayton, North Carolina Pipe Fitter Job Duties:

Install, assemble, and maintain pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications to determine the layout of piping systems. Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes using hand and power tools or machines. Inspect and test piping systems for leaks and defects using pressure gauges, hydrostatic testing, and other methods. Repair and replace damaged or worn pipes, fittings, and fixtures. Collaborate with other construction professionals, such as plumbers, welders, and HVAC technicians, to ensure efficient and effective installation and maintenance of piping systems. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Education and/or

Work Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management Preferred 1-3 years of heavy civil construction experience, preferably in dam, reservoir, landfill, wastewater treatment plants Required Experience and knowledge of Army Corp of Engineer projects Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel Superior analytical and problem-solving skills Organizational and planning skills Strong oral, consultative and written communication skills Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management Ability to establish trust and interface effectively with

Owners and Customers Physical Requirements:

Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements. Must have good hand-eye coordination, quick reaction times. Able to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and safety-toed boots. Able to walk moderate distances to reach work area up to 1/2 mile Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
