Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM (Frequent overtime and occasional Saturdays)

Job Summary:

We are hiring an experienced Utility Locator to identify and mark underground utilities before excavation or construction work begins. This role is critical to job site safety and requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

Locate and mark underground utilities (gas, water, sewer, electric, telecom) Read and interpret utility maps, blueprints, and site plans Use electromagnetic locators, GPS devices, and other detection tools Maintain accurate records and documentation of all locate activities Communicate with contractors, utility companies, and project managers Report discrepancies or hazards to supervisors Follow all safety protocols and company procedures

Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in utility locating Proficient in reading maps, blueprints, and using locating equipment OSHA 10 certification required Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record High school diploma or equivalent Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Comfortable working independently in the field

Work Environment:

Outdoor work in all weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, cold) Crew sizes range from 1 to 10, reporting to a foreman or superintendent Overtime varies by project (2-20 hours/week) Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 – $35.00/hr.
