Job Description
General Superintendent Carolina Infrastructure and Development Columbia, SC 29215 Carolina Infrastructure and Development is currently accepting resumes for a highly motivated construction professional to join our team as a General Superintendent in Columbia SC overseeing multiple Grading and Pipe Crews. We are a general contractor and heavy highway construction company serving residential and commercial construction clients. The General Superintendent will be responsible for managing the on-site operations for multiple Grading and Pipe crews, directing and supervising field personnel and enforcing company safety standards, while meeting project deadlines.
Typical Duties:
Responsible for the production and quality of earth moving operations and storm, sewer and water pipe installation. Process daily timesheets. Coordination and cooperation with other onsite operations as necessary. Ensures that safety, compliance, environmental, and OSHA requirements are followed at all times. Performs miscellaneous job‐related duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to read construction drawings, plan and execute projects through the planning, site development, and turnkey construction process.
- GPS knowledge and experience
- Must be able to work independently and within a team.
Skilled operator with multiple equipment including a scraper, motor grader, loader, compactor, dozer or excavator. Grade checking capabilities. Proficient with earth moving and fine grading procedures and principles. Proficient in the knowledge and installation of storm, sewer and water pipe systems. Capable of personnel management and accountability. Must be able to work in a safety-conscious manner. Must be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold, and other unusual elements, such as loud noise, dirt, dust, fumes, etc. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, overtime and weekends as required.
