The Opportunity Reporting to the Construction Services Team Leader and based in Lagrange, IN, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting pipeline construction activity with mechanical activities associated with pipeline maintenance. The incumbent will perform various duties on high pressure pipelines. This position requires some travel (50%) in support of pipeline construction activities. This position is overtime eligible and may require extended work hours. Minimum schedule will be 8-hour days, 5 days per week. What you’ll do Sandblasting and coating activities Operate power tools such as drills, grinders, torches, etc. Assist gathering of MTR’s for all materials that are applicable to a project Assist with ordering of construction consumables Assist crew leader and associate with obtaining documentation, op quals, and procedures Assist crew on constructability reviews, safety aspects, and compliance for projects Manage and document inventory of coating materials Operate equipment that is necessary to load and off-load trucks Oversee small equipment certification logs and ensure compliance Catalog and complete project record binders for all projects when applicable Cross train with different construction roles and fill-in as needed to support project needs including welder helping, spotters, gas monitoring, etc. Assist crew leader on information gathering for quotations and other engineering data as needed Other tasks as required Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Two years of work experience in a mechanical related environment Preferred Qualifications Valid CDL license or ability to obtain CDL license within 6 months of hire date Pipeline or construction industry experience Computer proficiency (Windows, Teams, Word, Outlook & Excel This position requires candidates to Have and maintain a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred) and safe driving record Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing Be subject to call out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and extended workdays and/or workweeks for emergency response purposes Frequent travel to other company locations to support construction activities, which will involve overnight stays away from home Driving a motor vehicle is an essential job function of this position.
