Job Description
Safe Harbor Rybovich is seeking both experienced Plumbers and Plumber’s Helpers. These positions require all levels of understanding of shipboard plumbing and piping systems as a yacht is totally self sufficient with water supply, storage, delivery, processing, holding, and discharge. There are multiple additional fluid piping systems that require Piping Technician’s oversight including but not limited to sea water, fresh water, gray water, black water, fuel oil, lube oil, compressed air, venting, drainage, air conditioning chilled water, and fire fighting. Marine industry experience is desired but not required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Remove and reinstall pumps, filters, manifolds and valves Troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform repairs to piping systems of various materials (PVC, copper, PEX, CuNi, stainless steel, etc.) using various joining methods (solder, glue, radial crimp, flare, compression, etc.) Clean, service, repair or replace piping systems and components Perform pressure tests and return system back into service Install high end toilets, bidets, sinks, shower heads and fixtures Follow all schematics and documented procedures in accordance with all Quality Control and marine classification standards that apply to the job Thoroughly complete all calibration and documentation associated with testing and repairs Communicate timely updates to management, co-workers, to ensure timely and successful completion of job responsibilities Works closely with co-workers, management and safety coordinator to ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations Technical and Physical Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent preferred Experience with repairing various plumbing fixtures and fluid systems Proficient with the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments Identifies, communicates, and resolves problems in a timely manner Gathers and analyzes information Works well in group and individual problem-solving situations Valid drivers license Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Ability to write routine reports and correspondence Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure (imperial and metric), using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schematic form Frequently required to lift up to 50 lbs Minimum Soft Skills Qualifications Eagerness to engage in a growing, fast paced, and industry-leading company Consistently treats others with dignity and respect Genuinely serves others with humility and a positive attitude Frequently demonstrates a bias toward action Always communicates effectively and courteously with fellow teammates and members Continuously follows policies and procedures while seeking out new and better ways of accomplishing duties Shows resolve and overcomes difficulties in a positive and productive manner Gladly provides responsive, and high level of service to our teammates and members Eagerly puts forth the extra effort to accomplish duties Adapts quickly and efficiently to changing priorities in order to meet teammate or member needs The Company Safe Harbor Marinas, LLC (SHM) is the largest owner and operator of marinas in the world.
