Warranty Service Technician The Warranty Service Technician is responsible for providing timely and effective service to customers, ensuring their satisfaction by responding to and handling scheduled service calls in a professional manner. The ideal candidate for this position should have excellent technical and mechanical skills to work independently, diagnose and solve plumbing issues, and possess experience with basic hand, power, and diagnostic tools. In this role, the Warranty Service Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing plumbing systems, as well as installing new systems, fixtures, and appliances; they will also be expected to communicate effectively with customers. Overall, the Warranty Service Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the satisfaction of customers by providing timely and effective service, and should be committed to delivering high-quality work and exceptional customer service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Adhere to company policies and procedures. Identify and gather material. Maintain vehicle stock and appearance. Carefully review assignments for instructions, and accuracy. Evaluate installation for original workmanship or tampering. Detailed documentation and investigative reporting of all repairs, with consideration to liability. Understand and adhere to procedure for work order completion. Identify and report escalated issues. Communication with administrative staff to coordinate the involvement of the customer, homebuilder or trade partners. Diagnose and assess repairs with consideration to health, safety and property damage. Perform in a manner that represents the values and reputation of the company. On-call after-hour emergency repairs on a scheduled rotation, and in accordance to company requirements. Maintain a presentable and neat appearance, with consideration to PPE and protection of private property. Backflow certification to facilitate testing and repairs, as applicable. Prioritize completion of assigned tasks before leaving for the day. Collaborate and communicate with other technicians to identify trends and report them. Attend, participate and apply training from product seminars. Diagnosis and repair of products with electrical and gas components. Navigate manufacturers website to locate and identify parts and installation instructions; contact to troubleshoot and place orders. Job Requirements Skilled in the use of hand and power tools used in the plumbing trade. Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and safety practices. Ability to read and follow blueprints and rough drawings. Familiarity with PVC, CPVC, Uponor piping. Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to complete projects unsupervised and unassisted. Excellent problem-solving skills. Attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Completing paperwork to document services rendered. 1-3 years’ experience as a journeyman plumber (experience may be acquired as training in the company). Have a clean driver’s license record.
