Adjunct Plumbing Technician Instructor 2.9 2.9 out of 5 stars Orangeburg County, SC Job Responsibilities Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans that align with industry standards and certification requirements. Provide hands-on training in various aspects of plumbing, including pipe installation, fixture assembly, water distribution, drainage systems, and blueprint reading. Instruct students in safety procedures, proper tool usage, and compliance with local, state, and national plumbing codes. Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, exams, and practical demonstrations. Maintain an organized and safe learning environment, including proper maintenance of tools and equipment. Collaborate with academic and administrative staff to continuously enhance the plumbing program. Support student success through mentorship, career guidance, and job placement assistance. Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and code updates to ensure curriculum relevance. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and accreditation activities as required. Minimum and Additional Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or higher in a related field preferred. Preferred Qualifications Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a licensed plumbing technician or journeyman/master plumber. Teaching experience in a vocational or technical education setting is a plus but not required. Additional Comments Classroom and hands-on lab/shop environment. May involve moderate lifting, standing for extended periods, and exposure to tools and equipment used in the plumbing trade. Strong communication, organizational, and instructional skills. Ability to work with diverse student populations and adapt teaching methods to various learning styles. Proficiency in using technology for instruction and student record-keeping. Current plumbing licensure and industry certifications preferred.
