Job Description for Plumbing Technician As a Plumbing technician, you will need to diagnose and repair plumbing systems while leading customers to informed and confident buying decisions for maintenance plans, service repairs, quality products and new Plumbing systems when the time is right for the customer. This role also requires the tech to perform preventative maintenance to address any issues before they result in additional repairs or replacements. Responsibilities for Plumbing Technician Complete plumbing, drain cleaning, and other related in-home, service calls. Establish customer rapport to provide the right products and services. Educate and assist customers on the importance of plumbing system repair and replacement. Explain reasons for plumbing system failures and illustrate how the issue can be resolved. Educate and assist customers about water quality and the part it plays in keeping both customers and their water system healthy. Develop a proven track record in soldering, pipe threading, fixture installation, gas leak testing, and repair. Help customers select the right maintenance plan and understand warranty information. Educate and assist customers in choosing the best finance options. Understand your service criteria and hold yourself accountable for exceeding revenue goals. Maintain great communication with dispatch, customer service, supervisor, and warehouse. Present yourself as professional and knowledgeable to win new referrals and repeat business. Participate actively in all training exercises, morning meetings, trade shows, and retreats. Train and mentor apprentices to ensure quick, accurate repairs. Accurate and timely with invoices, timecards, curbside feedback, and option sheets. Maintain a clean, organized job site and well-inventoried truck.
