Production Manager – Industrial Firefighting Pumps US Fire Pump Company Holden, LA 70744 Who we are: US Fire Pump and US Fire Apparatus are the industry leaders in developing, manufacturing, and distributing custom designed industrial firefighting pumps, water supply units, and heavy-duty fire apparatus. Our primary mission is to protect the lives of the public and fire industry personnel while limiting property damage. US Fire Pump also maintains the largest industrial Emergency Response Team and equipment assets in the world. We are proudly located in Holden, LA.
Job Overview:
The Production Manager will serve as a manufacturing shop foreman who is responsible for leading and supervising a team during the production, assembly, repair, and maintenance of industrial firefighting pumps of various sizes and capacities. This role will need to have a strong understanding and aptitude towards engine mechanics, hydraulics, electrical systems, and the basics of fabrication principles. They must be able to communicate and work well with the engineering team, the fabrication team, and the mechanical team to ensure every piece of equipment is built to the customer’s specifications and industry standards. They must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and must be able to provide guidance, purpose, and motivation to ensure that all firefighting pumps are completed on time according to the production schedule.
Job Responsibilities:
Supervise a team of fabricators and mechanics during the manufacturing of heavy-duty industrial firefighting pumps through to completion Lead a team of pump mechanics during final assembly of each pump system Diagnose issues, perform repairs, and conduct regular maintenance to ensure optimal performance prior to delivery of all equipment Create and manage a production schedule based on company goals and customer requirements Supervise final QA/QC testing to ensure all pump systems are operational Communicate regularly with the company’s CEO about project status Work with the engineering team and other departments to establish clear goals and keep production on schedule Provide purpose, direction, and motivation to ensure all employees are always working effectively and efficiently towards the company’s goals
Position Requirements:
MUST have strong leadership ability and previous experience leading a team MUST have a strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of various engines MUST understand hydraulic systems and pump mechanics MUST be able to read and interpret schematics and diagrams MUST be able to diagnose and troubleshoot problems effectively MUST have good teamwork and collaboration skills MUST have excellent communication and organizational skills MUST be self-motivated
Preferred Experience:
Firefighting or Emergency Response Knowledge of industrial firefighting pump systems, operations, and industry needs
