Job Description

Pump Station Service Worker The City of Sevierville 2295 Mccroskey Island Road, Sevierville, TN 37876 This is a skilled work in performing a variety of manual tasks in water and sewer maintenance requiring considerable physical exertion under direct supervision. This position involves responsibility for performing a wide variety of tasks that require skills in water and sewer maintenance such as plumbing assistance, masonry, electrical, pumps and the use and maintenance of hand and power tools incidental to public works and maintenance activities. Assignments are received from the Pump Station Supervisor or the Pump Tech II who inspects work while in progress or upon completion. Employees in this position will be required to be on call during portions of each month.

SUMMARY:

This position’s primary duties are: Operates light mechanical equipment such as mowers, weedeaters, light trucks, etc.; operates power and manual tools utilized in public utilities maintenance activities; clean tools and equipment used. Loads and uploads materials and performs any other manual tasks involved in the general operations of the Sevierville Water Systems. Assists the Pump Technicians in wastewater and water pump station repairs, and in repairing and maintaining water and wastewater systems. Teardown and Repairs of pumps for proper operation. Performs water and wastewater maintenance work such as repairing line breaks and sewage blockages while on call. Performs related tasks as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires graduation from high school, GED or specialized vocational training. Requires the possession of a valid Tennessee driver’s license. Requires six months of experience in a similar field. Please submit application on our career page; seviervilletn.org/careers.
