JOB DESCRIPTION

We have 86 quarries and 56 asphalt plants across Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, Arkansas, Texas, Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio.
Rogers Group Inc. is currently seeking a Ground Man for the Lacey’s Spring Plant, Lacey’s Spring, AL, Alabama SMA, reporting to the Plant Manager. The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to lead/work safety.

Job Details:

Wages start at $22.00hr, Starting wage will be higher based on verifiable experience. Fulltime/Permanent Day Shift
$3.00 Night Shift Premium for night work Weekend work may be required
Overtime available / may be required

Job Responsibilities:

General plant/mine labor and clean-up of production areas, including shoveling stone from around conveyors and assist with plant clean up and operations
Operate a variety of heavy equipment and machinery.
Perform daily pre and post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies
Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management
Operate equipment with a high degree of safety and intermediate skill level
Properly follow all company policies and

OSHA / MSHA

/ environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment
Other duties as assigned by management
Being trained in various other entry level production positions and fill in as needed during vacations, absences, and increased production demand times
Report equipment problems and identify them to management
Light maintenance work and maintain the belt lines
Assist with Plant Operator Duties as needed
Complete equipment pre-shift report – if applicable
Assist other workers as needed or directed and other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
Properly follow all company policies and regulations for safe working procedures and environment
Ability to maintain safe working conditions
Self-motivated individual, must be able to perform required duties without constant supervision
Able to perform a variety of duties, some which may include plant clean-up, maintenance, operating equipment and other
duties as assigned
Ability to learn quickly
Must be willing to work weekends and overtime
Must pass pre-employment drug screen
