What You’ll Do Technical Operations:
Read and interpret prints and schematics for industrial machinery and equipment to determine appropriate tools, rigging gear, and sequence of operations
Equipment Movement:
Diagnose and execute repairs or modifications while loading, unloading, and transporting machinery using overhead lifting gear, pulleys, load moving dollies, hydraulic jacks, and forklifts
Rigging Preparation:
Inspect and prepare loads, align and level machinery, and prepare specialized rigging equipment including beams, pulleys, clamps, and bolts
Equipment Management:
Set up, operate, and maintain rigging equipment for various projects while ensuring all components are safe, secure, and in good working condition
Mechanical Troubleshooting:
Apply strong mechanical knowledge to diagnose electrical and mechanical issues, including machine disassembly and reassembly when needed
Communication:
Effectively communicate with team members and crane operators, including using standardized hand signals for overhead operations
Quality Assurance:
Maintain high levels of conscientiousness by monitoring for safety hazards during hoisting, maneuvering, or breaking down equipment
Safety Compliance:
Prioritize adherence to safety rules and regulations for all job duties, following established OSHA protocols
What You’ll Bring Educational Background:
High school diploma or GED required
Professional Experience:
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Professional Rigger, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of lifting, moving, transporting, positioning, and securing industrial machinery Ability to read plans, blueprints, drawings, and follow written instructions Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA safety standards and rigging equipment safety protocols
Mechanical Aptitude:
Demonstrated understanding of design, use, repair, and maintenance of machines and related tools
Physical Capabilities:
Ability to lift heavy tools and materials weighing up to 50 pounds Capability to regularly walk, climb, crawl, balance, and bend as required Comfort working at heights and in noisy environments
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in rigging or related field Experience with automation systems
