Construction Techs are essential for maintaining and improving thephysical environment of the university,supporting the construction,repair, and maintenance of Auburn University buildings, streets,sidewalks, and property. We have an in-house team of architects, engineers, constructionmanagers, designers, skilled craftsman, and custodial service staffwho take great pride in delivering high quality and on-timecustomer service.

Essential Functions Level I:

Assists in a variety of carpentry tasks and installationsincluding, but not limited to ceilings, flooring, windows, doorsand door jams, and siding in university buildings and structuresthroughout campus. Performs demolition work as needed for renovation andconstruction projects. Operates motorized equipment including forklifts, truck/trailercombinations, dump trucks, man lifts, and other heavyequipment. Maintains upkeep of ceilings throughout campus. Performs minorrepairs to various types of ceiling systems to prevent or correctleaks and damage from penetrations in roofs. Prepares and paints all manner of surfaces including, but notlimited to, masonry walls, sheetrock, external surfaces, andfloors. Performs installation or maintenance preparation ofsurfaces for paint and finishes. Assist in the set up and removal of barricades and otherdividers across campus. May be given the responsibility of individual projectcompletion, seeing to its logistics, cleanliness, completion, andclient interactions. May perform demolition of structures, portions of structures,walls, sidewalks, or other related building systems. May be responsible for meeting and maintaining training andcertification requirements as outlined by the department’s trainingand credentialing requirements.
