No Job Summary Auburn University Facilities Management is excited to begin the search for a Construction Tech to join the team! Construction Techs are essential for maintaining and improving the physical environment of the university,supporting the construction, repair, and maintenance of Auburn University buildings, streets, sidewalks, and property. The mission of Auburn University’s Facilities Management is to provide highly responsive and quality support services to build and maintain the facilities, grounds, and infrastructure of the University campus. Facilities Management employs more than 450 talented and professional individuals who are responsible for the coordination of construction, maintenance and infrastructure of the AU campus. We have an in-house team of architects, engineers, construction managers, designers, skilled craftsman, and custodial service staff who take great pride in delivering high quality and on-time customer service.

Essential Functions Level I:

Assists in a variety of carpentry tasks and installations including, but not limited to ceilings, flooring, windows, doors and door jams, and siding in university buildings and structures throughout campus.
Performs demolition work as needed for renovation and construction projects.
Operates motorized equipment including forklifts, truck/trailer combinations, dump trucks, man lifts, and other heavy equipment.
Maintains upkeep of ceilings throughout campus. Performs minor repairs to various types of ceiling systems to prevent or correct leaks and damage from penetrations in roofs.
Prepares and paints all manner of surfaces including, but not limited to, masonry walls, sheetrock, external surfaces, and floors. Performs installation or maintenance preparation of surfaces for paint and finishes.
Assist in the set up and removal of barricades and other dividers across campus.
May be given the responsibility of individual project completion, seeing to its logistics, cleanliness, completion, and client interactions.
May perform demolition of structures, portions of structures, walls, sidewalks, or other related building systems.
May be responsible for meeting and maintaining training and certification requirements as outlined by the department’s training and credentialing requirements.

Minimum Qualifications Level I:

High School Diploma or equivalent Internal candidates may be required to provide training and certification requirements as outlined by the Auburn University Facilities Management Policy for some positions.

Minimum License and Certifications Valid Driver’s License Desired Qualifications Preferred Maintenance Experience Salary Range:

$34, 570-$48,400 ($16.70/hr-$23.26/hr) based on education and years of experience.
