This role is essential in ensuring all required municipal permits are obtained accurately and efficiently before the commencement of residential or commercial projects. The ideal candidate will be proactive, well-versed in local building codes, and capable of navigating city or county permitting systems.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; further education in construction administration a plus. 1+ year experience in construction permitting, administration, or related field preferred. Understanding of building codes and regulations specific to windows, doors, and roofing. Excellent time management and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and document handling. Professional communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency with permitting portals, email, and Microsoft Office Suite. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to permitting offices or job sites as needed.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with common permit types such as reroof, impact window, or door replacement permits. Ability to read and interpret basic site plans, architectural drawings, or product approval sheets. Experience submitting permits through municipal platforms (e.g., ePermit, Accela, Citizenserve). Understanding of contractor licensing, notice of commencement (NOC) processes, and inspection scheduling.
