Construction Layout Technician McClure is currently seeking a Construction Layout Technician to join our Survey team in the North Kansas City office. This role is ideal for a motivated individual with a strong background in construction and construction layout with a passion for delivering accurate, efficient fieldwork on a variety of civil and site development projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform construction layout for commercial, industrial, public and private infrastructure projects.
• Set control, establish grades, and stake for a wide range of construction features including utilities, pavement, and structures.
• Maintain accurate field records and documentation.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, surveyors, and contractors to ensure layout is performed to plan specifications.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in construction layout.
• Familiarity with proper total station, digital level, and GPS use.
• Ability to read and interpret civil construction plans and specifications.
• Willingness and ability to learn or use CAD software (AutoCAD Civil 3D) for site calculations and data preparation.
• Strong communication skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.

(Company truck will be provided)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience performing calculations and preparing data files for construction layout.
• Familiarity with Trimble layout equipment (Total Station, GPS, Trimble Access).
