Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties include but are not limited to: Provide career tracks in trades such as caulking, coating, masonry, painting, plastering, and roofing, which encompass tasks ranging from routine and unskilled to highly skilled. Apply methods and general procedures of relevant trades and maintenance techniques, while developing proficiency in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and equipment appropriate to the trade. Perform tasks including maintenance, repair, replacement, fabrication, installation, alteration, construction, and design of facility components. These tasks require skills in planning, problem-solving, attention to detail, teamwork, communication, and adherence to safety policies and regulations. Serve as a helper to advanced and journey-level technicians, assisting them in daily job duties and gaining hands-on experience. Work outdoors, often in elevated conditions. Applicants must be comfortable with heights. Assist advanced and journey-level technicians with tasks performed from lifts, while learning to operate the lifts as part of the job responsibilities. Ability to obtain a drone license as part of the position requirements to assist advanced and journey-level technicians with building and roof inspections Minimum Experience /

Education:
Required Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

University Preferred Qualifications:

Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Education Skills and Experience:

Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. Ability to follow applicable building codes. Ability to effectively communicate. Effective skills in verbal, written, and interpersonal communications. Computer literate. Knowledge and skill with Google Chrome, Microsoft Word, and Excel, and willingness to learn new programs. Ability to foster and create an atmosphere of teamwork with co-workers, visitors, building occupants, and the entire campus community. Selected candidate must have capabilities to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. This position must be willing to learn how to fly a drone and receive there 107 drone lichens.
