Sheet Metal Mechanic Job Description As a Sheet Metal Mechanic, you will be responsible for cutting and measuring sheet metal duct and hanging VAV boxes. You will work with various types of sheet metal duct including spiral, galvanized, rectangular, double wall, and fiberglass. The role requires a general knowledge of piping and controls, AC installation, and retrofit tasks. Responsibilities Install all types of sheet metal duct including spiral, galvanized, rectangular, double wall, and fiberglass. Measure and cut the appropriate size of sheet metal. Install preassembled duct. Interpret blueprints and complete layouts as needed. Use scribers, dividers, and squares to mark dimensions on materials. Essential Skills Sheet metal installation experience. Ability to interpret blueprints. Proficiency in using basic hand tools. Knowledge of duct work and mechanical construction. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with HVAC installation. General knowledge of piping and controls. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 – $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
