Sheet Metal Fabricator Point EIght Power 1510 Engineers Road, Belle Chasse, LA 70037 Position Summary Deliver best in class thinking and service to the oil and gas, marine, and energy markets through listening, applying intelligence and responding. Every time. The Fabrication department is responsible the fabrication of raw materials as needed to manufacture quality Point Eight Power products in a timely manner. The overall objective of the Fabrication Assembler, 2nd class position is to engage in all activities concerned with assembling the structural parts of our products and ensure that jobs are completed and shipped as scheduled while meeting our quality standards. Consistent and accurate modeling and representing of the Point Eight Power brand, mission, vision, values and organizational strategy are essential to achieving the goals of the organization. Essential Accountabilities Support the effort of being a best-in-class manufacturer through the fabrication of high quality products that exceed our clients’ expectations by assembling fabricated parts materials as needed for the fabrication of Point Eight Power products.
This includes the following tasks:
Coordinate with the Assembly Foreman or the 1st Class Assemblers to locate and review drawings and partslists in order to assemble and bolt together parts using the proper hardware. Work with 1st class. Install and properly align doors, covers, hinges, latches, and gaskets etc., according to client specifications. Apply knowledge of materials and parts to ensure that shop supplies, standard parts, hardware are on handto meet seamless production demands. Exhibit and apply knowledge of NEMA rating for inside/outside environment conditions. Maintain a safe, clean and well-organized work area. Coordinate with the 1st Class Assemblers and the Assembly Foreman to document any engineering or fabrication problems that may cause project delays or effect quality, enabling problem resolution and the delivery of best in class quality. Contribute new ideas to supervisors in order to drive continuous improvements. Measures Performance objectives, and their related measures, are determined in relation to the Strategic Plan; these are presented in accordance with Point Eight Power’s “Policy, Objectives, Leadership Commitment and Communication” procedure. Qualifications Education/Certifications High School Diploma/GED, required Experience 2 – 5 years of fabrication and manufacturing experience, preferred.

Design:

Mechanical:
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Tools include:
air inpack, air ratchet, wrenches, sockets, hammer, center punch, tape measure, square.
Computers and Electronics:
Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications and programming such as Microsoft Office Business Suite; knowledge of accounting software such as AS 400.
Verbal & Written Communication Skills:
This position requires basic skills (ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.)
Math Skills:
This position requires intermediate skills (calculate figures/discounts, proportions, area, etc.)
Arm-Hand Steadiness:
The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
Visualization:
The ability to imagine how something will look after it is moved around or when its parts are moved or rearranged.
Manual Dexterity:

Technical Experience:
Ability to read and process drawings, cut sheets and parts lists.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions Physical Requirement:
Demanding. Must have ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. Employee must be at to sit, climb or balance, hear, use hands, taste/smell, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, stand, walk, talk, and reach with hands and arms.
Working Conditions:
Conditions vary per work site: can be high heat, high humidity, exposure to electrical shock and mechanical parts, exposure to radiation, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals with fumes and/or airborne particles.
