Layout Fitter Steel Fabrication C.P.Stillwell Industries 3000 Grand Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15225 Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in working with various materials and tools, particularly in a construction or manufacturing environment. As a Fitter, you will be responsible for assembling and fabricating components according to specifications, ensuring high-quality standards and safety protocols are met. Duties Assemble and fabricate metal components using various techniques including welding and plasma cutting. Operate power tools and machinery such as press brake machines to shape and cut materials. Utilize measuring instruments like micrometers to ensure precision in assembly and fitting processes. Install ductwork and sheet metal components in accordance with project specifications. Collaborate with team members on construction sites to ensure timely completion of projects. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety regulations at all times. Perform routine maintenance on equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance. Requirements Proven experience as a Fitter or similar role in a construction or manufacturing setting. Proficiency in welding techniques and plasma cutting is highly desirable. Familiarity with operating forklifts and other heavy machinery is a plus. Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and ductwork installation. Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications accurately. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy materials as needed. A commitment to safety practices in the workplace is essential.
