Summary:
Solar Panel Shop Assistant We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Engineering Assistant to support our solar energy team. This role involves assisting engineers with project execution, handling tools and equipment, and providing technical support in both the office and field settings. Ideal candidates are mechanically inclined, comfortable using computers, and capable of operating forklifts and various tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist engineers in preparing, organizing, and maintaining solar project plans and documentation Operate forklifts to move materials and equipment safely Use hand and power tools to support installation, maintenance, and testing of solar equipment Maintain accurate records of materials, parts, and work progress Support technical tasks including system layout reviews, component assembly, and site preparation Perform basic mechanical tasks related to mounting systems, racking, and wiring Help ensure compliance with safety protocols and engineering standards on-site
Requirements:
Mechanically inclined with ability to troubleshoot and work with tools Strong computer skills and software knowledge Forklift certification or willingness to become certified Ability to read technical drawings and follow detailed instructions Valid Driver’s License Strong organizational and time management skills High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school a plus
